I have watched so much Netflix in the last few days, which probably is the silver lining of being isolated during COVID.
Most shows have good looking people. But objectively speaking, the men are way hotter than the women. I have always found women more attractive than men, esp when it comes to their bodies. Yet, netflix has just the opposite distribution of sexiness. I mean, if you have seen the hung ex in 'Sex Life' or the 'master' (appropriate male to mistress) of the eponymous lead character in 'Valeria' or the french chef in 'Emily in Paris', or Soman and Babbar in our very own 'Four More Shots Pleae' - you definitely know what I'm talking about.
Having more shows depicting hot men could mean a few things. One, men got hotter which is a thesis i cannot prove when i go for a walk at reclamation or eat at a good restaurant, quite the contrary actually. Two, women are bored, alone and watching a lot of Netflix. If this is the case I would really encourage more books, movies, restaurants... Third, and likely the truest is that we got bold. Women's lib has come a long way since Lorena Bobbitt. The fact that i can watch penises on TV and men are contending for my attention as a woman means i am important as a consumer, and as a person. More important than ever.
I hope to be kind to the men on TV and not demand they be relegated to side roles the. Minute they turn 40 or get married. I agree not to objectify or stereotype them. But i may have some very questionable dreams about some. Of them.
Class act! I remember shows on Star TV in the 90s had only hot women. Dynasty/ Bold and the beautiful and Baywatch for starters.
